As #COP29 comes to an end, our very own Eric Gibbs has been actively participating in impactful discussions and collaborations in Baku, driving forward initiatives for a clean energy transition. Here's a glimpse of CEBA activity ?? We were proud to sponsor Business Council for Sustainable Energy (BCSE) and participate in the Advancing Industry Cooperation to Achieve Energy Transition Goals roundtable. Thank you to BCSE for inviting us to contribute to this critical dialogue on fostering collaboration and actionable solutions for a cleaner energy future. Eric moderated the Innovative Partnerships and Solutions for a Clean, Reliable Grid session in the America Is All In Pavilion, where corporate buyers and utility leaders shared strategies for scaling renewable energy and building a resilient, reliable grid. He also represented CEBA at the Carbon-Free Energy Initiative session in the South Korea Pavilion, sharing insights on expanding clean energy procurement, setting ambitious renewable energy targets, and strengthening grid systems. This session emphasized international collaboration and showcased the innovative steps being taken to accelerate clean energy solutions globally. Together, we’re helping pave the way for a global clean energy transition, and we’re excited to keep the momentum going as we look toward the future at COP30 in Brazil. #CleanEnergy #EnergyTransition #Baku #COP30

Japan is a critical energy market for CEBA members, and access to new, reliable, and cost-competitive clean energy is a high priority. Renewable energy now only accounts for 25% of Japan’s electricity resources, while CEBA’s members and their more than 1,000 value chain partners located in Japan have ambitious decarbonization goals. To offer possible solutions that will help facilitate customers’ clean energy procurement in Japan, CEBA has published an Issue Brief on Energy Customer Needs in Japan. A new report from the Clean Energy Buyers Association (CEBA) shows the U.S. primary steel industry will require 174 terawatt hours (TWh) of electricity annually by 2050 in order to slash the industry’s carbon emissions, retain domestic competitiveness, and reduce emissions deep in corporate supply chains. “Given the basic [global] nature of the steel industry and the trends we’re seeing, market demand will continue to move this way,”?Jen Snook, CEBA’s industrial sector advisor, told Canary Media Inc.
