Gold Standard CEO, Margaret Kim is in New York this week, where she is joining leaders in the clean cooking sector for the launch of the Buyer’s Guide to High-Quality Cookstove Carbon Credits. Tomorrow, at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), in an event hosted by Clean Cooking Alliance (CCA) and ICE, Margaret will discuss the critical role of clean cooking in combating climate change and improving lives and importantly, how to scale it as a climate solution. About 2.3 billion people cook over open fires, about 28% of the global population. For individuals this means both a higher likelihood of disease, and hours a day collecting wood. For the planet it means about 2% of global climate emissions. As the originators of the first clean cooking methodology over a decade ago, Gold Standard is clear that clean cooking cannot scale quickly without carbon finance. Empowering more support for high-quality, impactful projects is essential to reduce emissions, protect nature and move towards a world where everyone can thrive.??
