The best way to prepare for chaos within the restoration industry? Train in it. Yesterday was the final day at Global Catastrophe Training. This entire training has been full throttle! Paul Silliman and Lane Larsen are on-site as crews set up live equipment in a real-world disaster scenario. This isn’t just a classroom lesson... it’s hands-on training with air movers, generators, desiccants, and full power distribution. When it comes to CAT events, preparation is everything. That’s why training like this is so valuable, ensuring restoration pros are ready for anything. Huge thanks to everyone who made this event happen, especially Chris Carter and Leanne Welsh! Last week, I had the opportunity to speak at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) alongside some of the biggest players in the restoration industry. We’re collaborating to create a college degree focused on restoration covering the skills, knowledge, and processes needed to prepare graduates for careers in this growing field. It’s exciting to be part of a movement that will help shape the future of our industry. We also had the chance to meet with students from the construction management program, discussing their futures and offering job and internship opportunities.
