The #ClimateCommitmentAct continues to make bold investments in decarbonization projects focused on efficiency, renewables, and reduced fossil fuel consumption. This week, the Washington State Department of Commerce announced more than $55 million in new CCA investments for projects that support energy efficient, healthy, and modern buildings across our state. Commerce Director Joe Nguyen highlighted these new investments at the Pasco School District, which has received nearly $2 million to update its HVAC system and install heat pumps. The US energy transition set RECORDS in 2024 ???? The highlights: ?? Solar added a record 64 TWh of electricity generation ?? Wind and solar generated a record 17% of US electricity ?? Coal fell to a record low of only 15% of electricity That means that the US generated more electricity from wind and solar than from coal for the FIRST time last year. 24 states have also reached this milestone individually, with Illinois being the latest to join the club. New map shows what we may lose Washington state’s thriving clean economy is powered by billions of dollars in private-sector investments, AND by government investments that power research & development, reduce start-up risk, and scale innovation. Those investments are funded at the state level by the Climate Commitment Act. Federal dollars, too, are driving our clean economy. The?Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill, the Inflation Reduction Act, and the CHIPS and Science Act?all support local business growth and job creation, and competitive strength in the global clean energy race.

Tremendous success on behalf of Clean & Prosperous Institute for their 7th annual Future of #CarbonPolicy Forum. This evening left me feeling a boost of hope, and I’ve set my wheels turning on ideas for transportation related GHG and diesel exhaust reduction, the future of energy in #Washington, and what’s next, now that voters came out to show such strong support for the #ClimateCommitmentAct. This was an impressive line up of speakers, and I’m oh so grateful to be reminded how many wonderful, hardworking, and smart people are creating the future of carbon policy for a more sustainable world. We are honored to receive the prestigious David & Patricia Giuliani Clean Energy Entrepreneur Award, presented at the Clean & Prosperous Institute’s 7th Annual Future of Carbon Policy Forum. This recognition highlights our work transforming commercial buildings into virtual power plants (VPPs) and advancing the clean energy transition. The Forum brought together industry leaders, state officials, and innovative companies to discuss the future of clean energy in Washington State. Highlights included keynotes from State Senator Joseph Nguyen and representatives from companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Symetra, Helion, and Rivian. “We are deeply grateful to the Clean & Prosperous Institute for this recognition,” said Hendrik Van Hemert, Managing Director at Edo. “This award reflects our commitment to not just improving energy efficiency but also driving long-term, equitable economic development.
