I'm excited to share that Classroom Clinic was selected as one of the 3 finalists to pitch at the InnoVenture Iowa pitch competition Wednesday night. What a privilege that was! Hats off to Kaylee Williams and her team for making that night the most memorable night I've had in a long time! The energy in the room was inspiring, the attention to detail was unmatched, and the support I felt was overwhelming. My warmest congratulations to Jayson Ryner of ReEnvision Ag Inc for winning the $100,000 top prize, and to Xun Wu, Akalanka Tennakoon, and Matt Herman of Upcycling+ for winning the People's Choice award and $10,000 prize. It was a privilege to share the stage with them. The fact that a woman from rural Iowa took an idea she had, and turned it into a business that is making a difference in the lives of children, is a real testament to the startup ecosystem. Thank you to Debi Durham for making Iowa such a great environment for people like myself to pull the trigger on an idea I had. While I left the event without a check in hand, I believe I am richer for having this opportunity to share the great work we do at Classroom Clinic. I am especially full of gratitude for having such phenomenal team members to work with, including Allen Bierbaum, Nate Kalkwarf, and Cammy Hinkeldey. Margaret Mead once said, "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed individuals can change the world. In fact, it's the only thing that ever has."
