Classroom Central was established in 2002 when a team of local business leaders set out to provide free school supplies to children living in poverty. Today, Classroom Central serves teachers and students in nearly 200 schools across 6 school districts: Charlotte-Mecklenburg, Gaston County, Iredell/Statesville, Union County, City of Kannapolis, and Lancaster County, SC. Eligible schools are those in which 50% or more of students receive free or reduce price lunch.

This critical program is focused on increasing the percentage of third graders who finish the school year on reading level increases from 29% to 80% by 2030, a goal that closely aligns with our mission to create equity in the classroom by equipping students and teachers with the tools they need to succeed.
