What a neat innovation! Our CLASP team recently showcased a mobile app that will help state agencies in India monitor, regulate, and ensure appliance efficiency policies are working across the country. This app was made for India’s Bureau of Energy Efficiency (????? ?????? ??????) (BEE) to measure the implementation of appliance efficiency policies. There was a live demonstration at a BEE and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH summit in Vijayawada, India, to an audience that included 30 state representatives. CLASP’s research shows that appliance energy efficiency is a proven, cost-effective means of reducing emissions, improving resilience for climate-vulnerable communities, and catalyzing sustainable development through improved energy access.
