Clark & Enersen was founded in 1946 in by Architect Kenneth B. Clark and Landscape Architect Lawrence A. Enersen—Harvard graduates who shared a commitment to collaboration and excellence in design. Their spirit continues today as our firm serves clients nationwide from our offices—two in Nebraska (Lincoln and Omaha, Nebraska), two in the Kansas City metro (Kansas City, Missouri, and Lawrence, Kansas), one on the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains (Fort Collins, Colorado), one on the West Coast (Portland, Oregon), and one on the East Coast (Charleston, South Carolina). Located in University Village, the 52,000-SF facility will help connect University of Nebraska at Kearney students with area businesses while providing space for job fairs, campus and community events, guest lectures, public hearings, government meetings, and other engagements. We truly enjoyed collaborating with UNK on this important facility that will serve as a hub for the community and region for years to come.

#FeatureFriday Spotlight: The Peltier Complex at North Dakota State University! The state-of-the-art facility supports a wide range of research involving food science, meat science, muscle biology, food safety, nutrition, consumer sensory traits, and the development of new agricultural products. Spanning 160,000 SF, the facility is the largest agricultural building in North Dakota and triples the amount of lab space available to university programs.

Last week, our Lawrence office created an installation for Park(ing) day, which helps to engage the public and reclaim public space for the people. The event encompasses parks and recreation, arts, architecture and design, and social activism, where the public is invited and encouraged to interact with temporary installations. Thanks to Sunflower Outdoor & Bike Shop, KU Urban Planning, and the University of Kansas Honors Program for collaborating on the space!

The CenterPointe: Campus for Health & WellBeing Renovation and Addition and the Lincoln Public Schools Watershed Interpretive Signage projects both received an Honor Award at the 2024 Fall Conference in Sioux Falls, SD. It was an honor to work with University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Nemaha Sports Construction to design this world-class facility! The project, which is located north of the Devaney Sports Center on Nebraska’s Innovation Campus, includes a 9-lane competition track with a 6-lane warm-up area, and a natural grass infield. The state-of-the-art facility is designed to host NCAA conference and regional track and field meets. American Sports Builders Association (ASBA)

The renovated Louise Pound Hall houses the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's International Students and Scholars Office, Education Abroad, Programs in English as a Second Language, and the Office of Global Strategies in one central location. The facility’s signature uniting element is a mobile that hangs from the atrium. Accent lighting highlights the piece and showcases photography from around the world. It provides a sense of arrival and distinct identity for individuals involved in global affairs while raising awareness of global challenges. The mobile design recently received an Honorable Mention in the National 3form Install Contest.
