Expanding the range of food delivery robots around the University of Nevada-Las Vegas. #ClarkCounty Commissioners approved allowing the robots on public sidewalks to bring food and non-alcoholic drinks to students and staff in areas near the Las #Vegas campus. The robots have been making deliveries on the UNLV campus since 2022 and the county has been working with leaders to expand the program both as a way to improve convenience and safety as the university footprint expands, especially with the increase of student housing along Maryland Parkway and Tropicana. Right now, Starship Technologies and Grubhub are approved to make deliveries on campus. UNLV officials brought one of the robots to show to commissioners. Other companies could apply to make deliveries around campus as well provided they meet certain requirements and have a #ClarkCounty business license. With the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada's Maryland Parkway project just getting underway, the robots won't be making off-campus deliveries for a couple of years, until 2026
