Facilitating access to civil legal aid to low income people in Clark County, WA through the strength of our volunteers

关于我们

Clark County Volunteer Lawyers Program (CCVLP) provides free consultation and direct attorney representation to members of our community with civil legal concerns. We do this through the use of volunteer and staff attorneys and with the support of funding from our community. These include private donations and grants, local city and county dollars, and state appropriated funds.

  • We’re excited to deepen our partnership with our friends and colleagues at Council for the Homeless with this dedicated effort to stop evictions before they begin. As rental assistance continues to dry up in our community (and indeed across the state and the nation), it’s even more crucial that tenants have the tools to assert their rights to safe and fair housing.

  • Happy Holidays from CCVLP! We had a wonderful year and are incredibly grateful to our volunteers, community partners, donors, sponsors, supporters, and clients. Here's to a joyful holiday season and another year of making a difference, together. Thank you for being part of the journey! Please note that the CCVLP offices will be closed for winter break from December 23rd through January 5th to give our team some well-deserved time off. We will be back in office on January 6th, 2025. If you are an existing client with our office, please know that communication with our team will be unavailable during this time, but that does not mean that we are no longer assisting you with your case. If you have an urgent legal issue during the break, please call the CLEAR hotline at 1-888-201-1014. Please note that CLEAR will be closed December 24th-25th and December 31st-January 1st. We hope everyone has a safe and restful holiday season and new year. ?? ??

  • We recently had the honor of attending the swearing in ceremony for the newest Superior Court Commissioner and dear friend of the CCVLP, Juliet Laycoe. If you've been lucky enough to know Juliet, you won't be surprised to know she is beloved to our organization. Juliet treats everyone in her orbit with exceptional kindness, respect, and care. The CCVLP has been extremely fortunate to have Juliet as a volunteer and champion of our mission for over 20 years(!), and though we will miss her dearly, we can't wait to watch the positive impact she will have in her new role on the bench. Thank you, Juliet, for all of the time and passion you've gifted us over the years. We are so, so proud of you. ?? Please join us in congratulating Commissioner Laycoe on this next exciting chapter of her life! ????

  • ?? Battle of the Lawyer Bands 2024-We've Got Winners! ?? What a night! On Thursday, we rocked the house at Brickhouse Bar & Grill and raised a whopping $20k to support access to justice. Huge thanks to everyone who came out, donated, and cheered their hearts out! You all rose to the challenge to embody our theme of "Riot Grrrl...Reimagined". Major kudos to River North, Takin' the Fifth, and Dead Run for each raising $3-5k—you all hustled hard! Our newest award, the Decibel Dynamo for the loudest crowd response, went to Big Electric, who got the crowd roaring like never before!
