These remarkable young musicians are helping ensure that the legacy of Latin jazz lives on. This past weekend, the Clark County School District Team Engagement Department was excited to host its second annual 5K Fun Run and Health & Wellness Fair! The event offered more than 1,000 CCSD employees and their guests family-friendly activities, including a health and wellness fair, mindfulness stations, and more. Admission was free for all CCSD employees and their guests, thanks to the generous support of the Preventative Diagnostic Center, HCA Healthcare, Lee’s Family Forum, and the Cook Center for Human Connection. ?? Growing Skills Beyond the Classroom ?? The Giant Student Farmers Market, organized by Green Our Planet, is a shining example of experiential learning in action. Twice a year, students from 33 schools gather to sell fresh produce and handmade crafts, all grown and created by their own hands. ??? This year, over 330 students raised nearly $10,000 to support school garden programs. But the true success lies in the skills they’ve cultivated: financial literacy, teamwork, entrepreneurship, and more. These young "farmpreneurs" are not only learning about sustainability but also gaining real-world experience that prepares them for the future. ?????? ?? Students who visited the Discovery Education table could participate in a maker challenge. The task was to create something that represents something they are interested in now or relates to what they would like to do in the future.
