Today's employee spotlight is Lucas Machado! Lucas is a Category Manager for Procurement's Cooking Equipment team and has been with Clark for three years. When asked what he enjoys most about working for Clark, Lucas said, "I appreciate the autonomy we're given when managing our categories and other day-to-day responsibilities. At Clark, we pride ourselves on having an entrepreneurial spirit. By allowing us to devise and implement different strategies, it promotes creativity and provides us with a sense of pride and ownership over our work."

Earlier this summer, WebstaurantStore's Nashville distribution center marked its official launch under the guidance of General Manager Paul Overmann and Director of Operations Gary Sowders. The state-of-the art facility shipped its first order to Game Terminal, a popular arcade and lounge in Nashville. The order signifies the beginning of what promises to be a cutting-edge automated operation. The Nashville warehouse incorporates AutoStore technology, which is expected to handle nearly 50% of its total shipping volume once fully operational. Congratulations to our Nashville team!

Today's employee spotlight is Katie Leftridge! Katie is the Data Analytics Manager for Business Services' Financial Systems & Data team and has been with Clark for three years. When asked what she enjoys most about working for Clark, Katie said, "I love the people I work with and the new and exciting challenges I get to solve everyday. I come to work and I not only get to do what I love, but I get to do it alongside great people!"

Last week our corporate campus hosted its 3rd Annual Clark Dog Show! Employees entered their dogs to be named best in show, but only one could be crowned the winner. Congrats to all of our furry friends who participated and to Maggie who took home the title and some serious bragging rights!

Today's employee spotlight is Jeremy Garrison! Jeremy began his journey with Clark as a Sales Specialist at The Restaurant Store and is now a Category Manager for Procurement's Cooking Equipment team. Jeremy has been with Clark for a total of five and a half years. When asked what he enjoys most about working for Clark, Jeremy said, "I appreciate that Clark is committed to growth. Whether it's developing employees through company trainings or the growth of the company through adaptability and innovation. Clark is dedicated to continuously improving processes and making sure we are staying ahead of the curve."

This summer, CEO Gene Clark was a keynote speaker during PA Free Enterprise Week (PFEW) at Lycoming College! He also had the opportunity to speak to students one-on-one and learn more about their experience with the PFEW program. Gene's message to students was to not be afraid to start small, dream big, work hard, and be humble enough to accept help when it comes your way. Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week provides practical, hands-on education to students during a week long program. Students are immersed in the exciting world of business, are provided a business mentor, taught the value of teamwork, and often leave with a newfound passion and clarity for their future.

Today's employee spotlight is Amber Musselman! Amber is a Pcard Specialist for Business Services' Treasury team and has?been for Clark for three years. When asked what she enjoys most about working for Clark, Amber said, "I love the friendly, team-oriented atmosphere! There are a lot of great people at Clark who are doing inspiring things both inside and outside of work. I also enjoy having the opportunity to interact with a variety of people and departments on a daily basis."

The new universally accessible Lloyd Clark Trail at the Clark Nature Preserve is officially open! The trail is named in memory of Clark Associates’ founder, Lloyd Clark, and in recognition of the Clark Associates Charitable Foundation’s historic investments in the Lancaster Conservancy’s land protection and stewardship work through the Conservancy’s Protect & Restore Campaign. This trail will provide opportunities for community members with mobility concerns and those using wheelchairs, walkers, strollers, or other mobility devices to explore the meadow and woods of this quintessential river hills landscape. “For those that knew Lloyd Clark, they probably have a memory of him that involves nature. Whether it be hunting, fishing, or just spending time outdoors, Lloyd loved being in nature. We thought he would have been proud to be associated with this project because of its simple intent to invite more people to experience the nature that he loved so much,” said the Clark family. Today's employee spotlight is Sam Payson! Sam is a Category Manager for Procurement's Perishables team and has been with Clark for five years. When asked what he enjoys most about working for Clark, Sam said, "I enjoy the people I work with. We have a culture of great employees only and I've only ever had wonderful managers that have assisted with my growth personally and professionally. I also have a team that I can trust as we all work collectively towards the same goal."
