    You're probably just as tired as I am of hearing people use the phrase "unprecedented times" an unprecedented number of times. It can feel disingenuous — more like a cursory nod than an actual invitation for open dialogue. Luckily, I happen to work with some really genuine human beings who are more focused on caring deeply about each other's wellbeing. I'd specifically like to shout out Rachelle Koenig. One of my favorite things about Rachelle is how intentional she is about taking a few minutes at the start of our meetings to check in with her colleagues and ask how they're doing. While this doesn't sound all that radical, Rachelle keeps things real. She encourages me to pause, reflect, and share my truth — even if it's a little more convoluted (or yes, despairing) than "I'm great! Thanks for asking!" Though the gesture itself is small, her impact is felt far and wide by myself and others at the agency. It's important to have real, candid conversations that extend beyond the workplace. We can't just shelve our emotions and pretend that the outside world stops when we sit down at our desk. We're all thinking it, but sometimes it takes another person to say it.
