?? Project Update ??? ??♀? Evergreen Charter School in Hempstead, NY is one of the East Coast's first cross-laminated timber (CLT) schools! Our #SlottedZ system ensures continuous mineral wool insulation, enhancing thermal performance and creating a robust building envelope. Designed by Martin Hopp Architect and developed by Odeh Engineers/WSP, this project features an 85,000 SF, 5-story school set to be completed in 2024. It’s also one of the 6 winners of the 2022 Mass Timber Competition by the Softwood Lumber Board (SLB) and the USDA Forest Service, aiming for Net-Zero Carbon. The project exemplifies a commitment to sustainable design, integrating our CLADIATOR? system(s) for optimal insulation and moisture control. The fa?ade, cladded in elegant charcoal paneling with light gray accents, exemplifies a modern aesthetic while adhering to our commitment to high-performance building solutions. The school will incorporate CLT, glulam, wood-concrete composite systems, and open-web trusses, combining innovation with sustainability to create a modern and efficient learning environment. Exciting progress is underway at the Centennial Arts Center! Inside, the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection work is coming together, and the sheetrock is nearly all hung. Our exterior painting team has begun work on the east and south sides, while stone walls are also being installed in Academy Garden.
