They include: - Carbohydrates: Our main energy source. Think whole grains, fruits, and veggies. ?????? - Proteins: Essential for building and repairing tissues. Load up on lean meats, beans, and nuts. ???? - Fats: Vital for brain health and energy. Opt for healthy fats like avocados, olive oil, and fish. ???? Why They Matter Balancing these macronutrients is key to maintaining energy levels, supporting muscle growth, and keeping your metabolism humming. Tips for a Balanced Diet - Mix it Up: Include a variety of foods to cover all your macronutrient bases. - Portion Control: Keep an eye on serving sizes to avoid overconsumption. - Track: Most of us don't really know what we eat on the daily (or how much), tracking is a valuable tool to see what our baseline currently is. - Listen to Your Body: Everyone's needs are different.   • I'm a very strong believer that we should all take ownership of our own health and wellness. There's a lot of responsibility that comes along with that but in the end the onus ultimately falls onto each and every one of us. One of the most basic things we can do is to pay attention to what we put into our bodies. And while cooking and eating real...whole...foods would be ideal, the reality is that most people don't cook (a topic for another day), nor do they truly pay attention to what they're consuming...at least from a health/wellness standpoint. Let's change this... I want to help bring awareness to small steps you can do to take back control of your health (or continue to improve). Let's start by reading and paying attention to food labels. While there are a lot of nuances, caveats and loopholes that food manufactures take advantage of, just getting familiar with what's on the label is the first step in making better decisions. The point of this post is to shed some light on how sugar gets buried in the labels. The order of ingredients is typically relative to the amount. So the first ingredient = is what it has the most of, second = second largest amount, and so on. By using different forms of sugar, manufacturers can position it so it appears there's less in the item than their is. What are you thoughts? Were you aware of all the items on the list?
