Groundbreaking has begun for the US 59 expansion (future I-69) through Wharton, Texas. CivilCorp has secured a contract with the TxDOT Yoakum District for the PS&E of US 59 through the City of Wharton. This 7-mile project will widen the freeway from 4 lanes to 6 lanes, upgrading it to interstate standards. US 59 will eventually serve as part of the I-69 corridor, connecting Texas to the rest of the United States.

CivilCorp, LLC is a professional service firm offering civil engineering and land surveying services throughout Texas. CivilCorp’s main office is in Victoria, Texas, with offices in Fulshear, Houston, Round Rock, and Corpus Christi. CivilCorp is seeking an Engineer-in-Training or experienced design technician to assist in applying engineering expertise in the daily operational task of preparing Plans, Specification & Estimate (PS&E), preliminary engineering reports, schematic design, roadway design, drainage design and TCP for roadway projects. The ideal candidate will have strong written and oral communication skills and credible design experience using and guiding the use of Microstation, GeoPak (Road and Drainage) and Open Roads. Additional software skills from related disciplines are also a plus. Key Qualifications · Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or related field or 5 to 10 years of design technician experience · EIT certification · Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and highway design programs (Microstation V8i, GeoPak and Open Roads) required for use in completing tasks. · Ability to handle multiple assignments and work alone or within a team environment. · Excellent verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications · Experience designing highway, freeway and/or tollway design (PS&E) projects. · Experience with roadway design, utility research and coordination, traffic control plans and quantity calculations. · Recent experience with and knowledge of TxDOT standards, specifications, policies and procedures. CivilCorp, LLC engineers attended the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce Infrastructure Division Meeting. TxDOT’s Fort Bend Area Engineer Carlos Zepeda provided an update on all the current and planned construction projects in Fort Bend and Waller Counties. With almost 900,000 residents, Fort Bend County’s rapid growth will continue to push for the need for growth in our transportation infrastructure.
