What's the easiest PE exam to take? We'll, historically it's usually been the transportation or water resources, simply based on pass rates. But since the last update in January of 2025, it seems that transportation has taken the cake as being THE most DIFFICULT exam in 2024. This is the first time I've ever seen this in 10 years of helping folks pass their exams. What do you think changed? The truth is that all PE exams are difficult...and they're all passable. • Imagine this: you earn your degree, pass the #FE, and work in engineering for 15 years…only to be told you can’t get the #PE because there are no PEs to sign off on your experience?! ?? Well…?? That’s exactly what an engineer shared with us right here on LinkedIn, and that’s the same problem many engineers face in industries where the PE isn’t as common as civil engineering. ?? So, in this episode, Mark Oakeson, P.E. joins us again to dive into this "loophole" in the PE licensure process that leaves a lot of engineers stuck…plus different ways to get around it. ?? In this episode, we cover: ? The Unseen “Loophole” in the PE Licensure Process…That Does Not Benefit You ?? Should There Be Alternative Pathways to Get The PE License? ?? The 2 Requirements That Really Matter to Guarantee Professional Competence ?? 3 Options to Get Licensed When You Don't Have a PE to Sign Off on Your Experience ?? What Young Engineers Must Do If They're Not Directly Working under a PE ?? What Young Engineers Can Do If There Aren't PEs in the Company They Work at ?? The Key to Avoid This Problem in Your Career Down the Road If you’re a civil engineer who knows you’ll be taking the PE Exam at some point in your career, then this is a must-listen if you want to avoid this problem later on. ?? The Hard Work No One Wants to Do... Everyone wants to pass the civil FE or PE exam, but not everyone wants to: ?? Work hundreds of practice problems until they understand the concepts deeply ?? Wake up early or stay late to study after a full day of work ?? Take multiple full-length, timed practice exams to simulate real test conditions ??Risk failing and having to retaking the exam another time (or a few more times). There’s no hack. No shortcut. No magic formula. Here's the key: ??Reps matter more than you think - don't think a few practice problems and a glance at the handbook will get you there. Put in the reps. Do the problems, do the exams. There's no way around it. ??Consistency beats motivation - motivation will kick start you, but consistency will keep you going. Even if you fail it a few times. Don't give up. ??Think in months...not days - preparing takes time! Give yourself plenty of wiggle room to study. But if you keep showing up, putting in reps, and trusting the process, you’ll get there. And when you do? That PE stamp is going to feel that much sweeter. ?? Who’s committed to the long game? Drop a ?? if you’re in! And if you need help, https://lnkd.in/gGZwaZz is there to guide you through this journey!
