Civil Design & Construction, Inc. staff spent a few days last week at the 2025 Louisiana Transportation Conference in Baton Rouge, LA. The LTC is held on a biennial basis to promote technology transfer and interchange of ideas among the transportation community. We'd like to thank the Louisiana Transportation Research Center staff for providing our industry with this fantastic event. It was a great few days catching up with our transportation partners and visiting with old friends. Our staff took some time yesterday to honor one of our own! The MAN, the MYTH, the LEGEND... PHIL DUPREE has RETIRED! Mudbugs were boiled, stories were shared, hugs were given and a few tears may have been shed. Phil's patience and guidance in the field are irreplaceable and have helped shape every Civil Design & Construction, Inc. project. HESP held its annual Scotlandville Magnet H.S. (SMHS) Engineering Symposium and it was a big success. 11th grade students participated in a bridge competition.  Approximately 150 students were exposed to engineering and we even tested the bridges from Scotlandville Middle & SMHS students.    I am so proud of the students who competed, and I am so thankful to everyone who helped! Thank you to the leaders at SMHS, the volunteers, the sponsors and exhibitors. Special thanks to Carol Anderson, Judith Dillon-Anderson, Ryan Lam, E.I. Jacob Thiaville, Christopher Knotts, P.E., F.ASCE and our judges from G.E.C., Inc. (GEC) and Stantec. I could tell from the students’ reactions that this has truly made a meaningful impact!
