???Are we asking the right questions before introducing technology in the classroom?
With AI, digital tools, and online learning expanding rapidly, it's important to think critically about?how we integrate technology into education. Are we prioritizing?privacy, accessibility, and ethics—or just chasing the latest trends?
When preparing for my recent lecture on digital ethics, I came across the Civics of Technology Project. This organization curated a few #EdTech ethical audit frameworks to?help educators navigate these tough questions, providing us with a framework to ensure tech enhances learning?without unintended harm.
In class last week, I asked our students to choose a classroom technology and conduct an audit of their choosing. They blew me away surfacing systems thinking, citing how AI ties to environmental concerns; as well as by thinking beyond the user's happy path, giving thought to the ethical implications of how people might incorporate other unethical practices when the chosen technology doesn't meet all the user needs.
Really excited to continue to dig into this topic more over the course of the semester as we explore other technologies like gamification and VR!
Highly encourage folks to check this out: https://lnkd.in/gXjrtBcr
