We thank Government Of Assam , India for giving us the opportunity and support to be part of their efforts in strengthening evidence-based decision making for disaster risk reduction (#DRR) and #ClimateAction. IDS-DRR key features: - Analytics Platform: Combines 14 diverse high-value datasets from sources like Indian Meteorological Department, Disaster Management Assam's DRIMS, National Remote Sensing Centre, ISRO's BHUVAN and Assam e-tenders. It uses AI to generate comprehensive risk scores and monthly flood risk reports for all districts and revenue circles. - #OpenData Access: Provides an open data platform for transparent and accessible information. - Enhancing Institutional Data Capacities via workshops and stakeholder consultations. At the panel discussion “Co-creating the Asia-Pacific Climate Data Collaborative,” ICSC Chief Data Scientist Jephraim Manansala discussed the critical role of data in identifying gaps and opportunities within the #EnergyTransition, emphasizing the need for effective data-sharing practices in the Philippines and across the region to strengthen collaborative efforts in addressing climate challenges. Manansala also highlighted some of ICSC’s key data-driven work, including its ongoing solar panel inventory using satellite imagery, and the upcoming Regional Energy and Climate Hub (Project REACH) set to launch later this year. Presenting CivicDataLab's work at the #AIActionSummit in Paris, our executive director and co-founder Gaurav Godhwani emphasised the need for #OpenData to make #GenerativeAI work for public good. At the #ForumforSustainableAI he discussed the role of digital public goods (#DPGs), digital public infrastructure (#DPI) and open data in AI development for #sustainability. HighIighting our journey and experiences in strengthening evidence based decision making processes and data capacities, he spoke about the introduction of #GreenBudget and Green public procurement (#GPP) in the northeast state of India - Assam (Assam Finance Department). These initiatives have helped government authorities strengthen green transition, enhance climate adaptation and map their commitments towards #ClimateAction. Talking about the India's progress and development of #LLM models like #Bhashini, where India is utilising LLMs for 22 official languages and 10,000+ dialects, Gaurav highlighted the expanding #Data4PublicGood ecosystem.
