We’ve spent this year looking back on our first 30 years and today we’re filled with gratitude for you. Civic Works was created in 1993 as a place where youth in Baltimore could go to learn job skills and to serve their communities. We’ve always believed that both are important. Although we’ve expanded to include people of all ages and communities outside of Baltimore, Civic Works is still a place where everyone has something to learn and everyone can serve.
?
Thank you to the?6,041 AmeriCorps members?who made commitments to serve and the?57,774 volunteers?who gave your time to help others. In 30 years, you helped:
?? 291 vacant lots thrive as community gardens and gathering spaces.
?? 1,302 Baltimore residents find full-time jobs.
?? 4,781 families live in homes that are safer and more affordable.
?? 26,951 families save energy at home.
?? 29,852 people receive healthy, locally grown food.
?? 58,947 students benefit from tutors and mentors to help them through school.
We hope you’ll be a part of our next 30 years too.
?
You can donate to Civic Works to support 128 AmeriCorps members, 150 job trainees, 750 high school students and 1,500 volunteers as they learn new skills, help their neighbors, achieve their goals, and change communities in 2024.
Your donation will also deliver food to people who need it, make homes safer for older adults and more energy efficient for Baltimore area families, and create cleaner and greener communities. ??
