If you need to get something from us this week, do it today or tomorrow, because we are off Friday! We create a mental health day off for staff in any month that does not have a three day weekend. Why? I believe that work is a marathon not a sprint. We want staff to be able to be off at the same time on regular intervals to recharge without the pressure of a "can you answer this real quick" text while everyone else is working. So at Civic, we create our own days off to accomplish that. In 2025 that means one in March and one in August. Interested in our culture? Let's chat! #PublicProcurement #Careers #PublicSector #Procurement Civic Initiatives

PODCAST POSTED: It's #ProcurementMonth, and the National Procurement Institute, Inc. says that March 12th is Procurement Professionals Day. Sounds good to me! In our state of constant change, procurement professionals are a foundation for acting with intent, fairness, and a drive to maximize the value of the public dollar. I truly enjoy this profession. And I respect the work I see every day from colleagues at all levels of government, and the work of my team of full-time procurement professionals in supporting our government clients. Keep making it happen! #PublicProcurement #PublicSector #Procurement Civic Initiatives

Invest in Yourself—Without Guilt Take time to invest in yourself without feeling guilty, let go of your unhealthy ego, and learn from the great people around you. Civic Initiatives tip today is from Lymaris Ramos, Outreach and Engagement / Client Success Associate, "Every day is an opportunity to develop character, push your limits, embrace healthy habits, learn something new, self-reflect with compassion, and overcome imposter syndrome. It's okay to take time to be present. Learn to ask, speak up, organize tasks, and prioritize peace over control. Stop and reflect. A clear mind leads to selfless decisions that guide you to a better place. When you prioritize your overall health, you'll show up as your best self—both at work and for the people around you! One way I invest in myself is by being intentional about the communities I build and the ones I choose to be a part of. In a fast-paced world, we all have our ways—learn to meet people where they are and value human connections. It's a blessing to be surrounded by different perspectives on life. Create a community where you feel safe to speak up, ask for help, always respect others, and support each other's growth. Connections are constantly teaching us something about ourselves. Since adopting this mindset, work has felt lighter and I have started to see so much value in the small things each day -- and in the present moment, we have so much to be grateful for—Working at Civic helps. The company actively supports this approach. Civic is committed to creating a wellness-focused environment where we nurture our well-being, share ideas, and support each other in doing what we love. We share tips, podcasts, and even healthy recipes! We’ve got each other’s backs! If I had to sum it up: Working at Civic is about PEOPLE, procurement, and much more than just consulting! My personal tip: I hope everyone can choose a workplace that supports both your career and personal life. With balance, you show up as your best self." How do you invest in yourself? Let’s share and grow together. ?? Sign up here to discuss what we can do for you. https://lnkd.in/gxwdmH5B #CivicInitiaitives #PublicProcurement #PublicSector

March is Procurement Month’s time to recognize the professionals who ensure public funds are spent transparently, fairly, and efficiently. At Civic Initiatives we know that procurement goes beyond purchasing; it’s about driving innovation, enabling missions, and delivering results. This month, we are spotlighting the voices of clients we serve, and sharing testimonials of project work completed in partnership and collaboration. From Alisa DeHoyos, Purchasing Manager, City of Burbank, "My experience with Civic has been so positive. Like many similar agencies, our practices hadn't always kept up with market experience, and a total review and refresh of policy was determined to be prudent, especially after the experience of the COVID pandemic and retiring long-term employees. We needed a public procurement firm with experience and a proven track record of success. The members of the Civic team have been invaluable in providing insight, expertise, and resources to help us accomplish our procurement transformation goals. I cannot speak highly enough of Jennifer Miracle, Veronica Ambrose, and Joan Graham, whose support and humor kept me going through this project when I was unsure which way to pivot. While writing the procurement manual itself was challenging, it was a rewarding experience, and I’m very glad we went through it with the Civic team supporting us." To all procurement teams out there, thank you for what you do! Let’s make this month a celebration of impact and excellence. https://lnkd.in/gWPkh6br #ProcurementMonth #PublicSector #PublicProcurement #CivicInitiatives
