At Riggs Distler, giving back is part of who we are. That’s why we established Riggs Distler’s Helping Hands, our philanthropic arm dedicated to supporting those in need. As the committee sponsor, I’m incredibly proud of our employees, who consistently step up through fundraising, volunteering, and charity work. One organization we are especially honored to support is CityTeam Chester, a nonprofit that provides food, shelter, and critical resources to individuals and families facing hardship. Their programs offer more than immediate relief—they help people rebuild their lives with dignity and stability. Over the past two years, Riggs Distler employees have raised $80,000 for CityTeam through our annual charity golf outing. But we knew we could do more than just provide financial support. After personally visiting CityTeam’s headquarters in August 2024 with some of the team responsible for the fundraising efforts, we saw an opportunity to make an even greater impact by doing what we do best. As construction contractors, rolling up our sleeves and improving infrastructure is in our DNA. We identified some improvements that could make a difference and convinced our friends at CityTeam to let us help. We know renovating a space does more than improve functionality, it creates a more uplifting and inspiring environment, helping people feel valued, motivated, and proud of the work they do and the community they serve. In just a short period of time,?we were able to complete critical electrical and construction upgrades to the facility’s multipurpose area, creating a brighter, safer, and more functional space so CityTeam can continue its mission.?We were there last week to celebrate the new space with a ribbon cutting ceremony. What’s truly inspiring is that even during renovations, CityTeam never stopped serving the community! We are privileged to stand alongside them and support their life-changing work. A special thank you to all the RDC employees involved, and our Local 654 partners—the Business Manager, Agents, and electricians—who generously donated their time and expertise.
