647 Elton Avenue – Just four months after a high-profile groundbreaking ceremony attended by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, New York Knicks legend and broadcaster Walt ‘Clyde’ Frazier, Knicks All-Star Julius Randle, and head coach Tom Thibodeau, the 69,000 SF, five-story charter school is rapidly taking shape. This is no ordinary school—it is a specialized institution dedicated to developing the next generation of professional basketball players, combining high-level academics with elite athletic training. The first floor, as seen in the photo, will house an 8,000 SF indoor basketball court where future NBA and WNBA stars will train and hone their skills. Two lines of one-story-tall steel trusses have just been installed above the basketball court to support the structure above. These truss members were carefully integrated within the architectural layout, hidden between the walls of the classrooms above. Designed by IMC Architecture, developed by Pillar Property Management, and built by Brisa Builders Corp/ Brisa Builders Development LLC, the school is set to welcome 440 students in 2026. More than just a building, this institution represents opportunity—offering local students access to world-class training, mentorship, and education while serving as a beacon of hope and inspiration for the community. 1 Whyte Ave - Something exciting is brewing at the triangular island between Wythe Avenue, Banker Street, and N 15th Street in Greenpoint! A long-anticipated 41,000 SF beer brewhouse is underway, featuring a brewery farm, retail space, taproom, tasting room, restaurant, event space, and office areas. Brooklyn Brewery will call this new seven stories building its new home, occupying the cellar, first floor, and fourth floor, with a beer garden at the fourth floor terrace. Designed by Studio SC as the architect, the new building seamlessly blends the timeless appeal of red brick and large industrial windows, embodying Brooklyn’s iconic industrial charm. The brewery’s interior is crafted by Davis Brody Bond. CSE is proud to be part of this future Brooklyn hotspot, providing both structural engineering and support of excavation design. We can’t wait to see this vibrant space become a local favorite! 114 Snediker Avenue - Situated along a busy overhead subway line and spanning half a city block between Snediker Avenue and Van Sinderen Avenue, intersecting Glenmore Avenue in Brooklyn, NY, is undergoing a transformative redevelopment. This CMU bearing walls and precast plank construction is a collaboration with Urban Atelier Group Group and Camber Property Group. What was once a warehouse district is being revitalized into a four-story, 60,000-square-foot supportive housing complex. Curtis + Ginsberg Architects thoughtfully integrates environmentally sustainable features, including solar panels, a green roof garden, and a greenhouse, to promote community engagement and foster a sense of belonging within the building.?#CityScapeEngineering

This two-story, 32,000 SF house of worship in Swan Lake, NY is an inspiration and a testament to responsible construction. In a world increasingly dominated by steel and concrete, timber offers a refreshing departure—a return to the organic and sustainable practices. Not only driven by lower construction costs, but the architect and engineer also decided to minimize the use of steel elements, limiting their use only where clear spans are challenging. In the pursuit of sustainability, timber construction emerges not as a compromise but as a solution—an embodiment of innovation and environmental consciousness. #CityScapeEngineering

145-15 89th Street. Brooklyn - No April Fool!?Back in April 2022, Frontgate Management Inc. contacted us inquiring about the feasibility of delivering a 421A package within just two months. In response, our team at CSE swiftly rose to the challenge, promptly arranging a geotechnical investigation in collaboration with Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. (GTA), while closely coordinating with Samuel Wieder RA AIA, and Expediting4u, the expeditor. A year later, by April 2023, this 66,500 square-foot, 8-story building was topped off by Tovia Kohen and Jonathan Rocchio. Fast forward to April 2024, only two years later, the building is nearing full occupancy, with only a few units remaining available. CSE recognizes the importance of time and delivery for a project's success. With the right team and attitude, significant accomplishments can be achieved. #CityScapeEngineering
