The City of South San Francisco is pleased to announce the promotion of Battalion Chief Devin Flannery to the position of Deputy Fire Chief. Chief Flannery brings more than 22 years of dedicated service to the city, with prior fire and EMS experience in Los Angeles and Santa Clara Counties. Throughout his tenure, Chief Flannery has served in multiple roles, including Paramedic Firefighter, Captain, and Battalion Chief. Most recently, he managed the department’s Training Division, where he developed its first comprehensive annual training plan. His latest assignment involved overseeing "A-Shift" operations while also managing the department’s apparatus and equipment budgets. CONGRATULATIONS, Chief Flannery! National Scouting Day was last weekend - a day to recognize the contributions of Scouts and adults to Scouting, and to reflect on the Scout Law's 12th point: "A Scout is Reverent". We’re proud of all the Scouts who brought their training with them into their roles with the City. Join us in celebrating our Eagle Scouts and Girl Scouts (in alphabetical order by last name): 1?? Donn Lovell, Code Enforcement Officer: Boy Scouts - Eagle Scout Award earned 1984 with two palms; Years served: 1973 – Present with 11 years as youth, 41 years as adult leader-volunteer.
