San Diego building owners: The deadline to submit exemption requests for energy usage data to the City is coming up soon. Please submit your exemption via BEAM by March 31. You must submit data if the building is nonresidential, multifamily or mixed-use, at least 50,000 square feet, and has 17 or more utility accounts. If whole-building data is unavailable, the building was unoccupied for more than half the year, or scheduled for demolition, exemption requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis. The former Serra Mesa Library site on Sandrock Road is getting a new lease on life! Today, the City Council approved a ground lease with Community HousingWorks to build 59 affordable homes and one unrestricted manager unit. Half of these homes will prioritize military veterans and include supportive services for veterans experiencing or at risk of homelessness. These homes, known as the Serra Mesa Apartments, will be restricted for 55 years to households earning between 30 and 60% of the area median income (AMI). Those in that range are considered most at risk of experiencing homelessness. To help get the project off the ground, the Council also approved a $4 million Bridge to Home loan. Under the Bridge to Home program, the City invests directly in affordable housing projects to help builders complete their financing. #HomesforAllofUS Read more: https://lnkd.in/eaVPwa3h
