A new exhibit documenting the Chicano Movement is currently at City Hall for Hispanic Heritage Month! ??? ?? Today is #NationalDanceDay, a great time to learn more about the City of San Diego Parks and Recreation Department’s Civic Dance Arts program! Founded in 1942, Civic Dance Arts has introduced hundreds of thousands of citizens to the art form of dance. Classes are currently offered at 22 city recreation centers and Balboa Park facilities at affordable prices, with fees waived in some cases. Children and adults from all economic and cultural backgrounds are able to fully participate in the study of dance through Civic Dance Arts which offers beginning to pre-professional level instruction in disciplines such as jazz, tap, ballet, modern, hip hop and musical theater. Last week, staff met with world leaders to discuss American infrastructure and the success of our local projects. International experts from the Indo-Pacific region, hosted by the U.S. Department of State's International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), sat down with staff from the Engineering and Capital Projects Department, Department of Finance, and the Mayor’s Policy Advisors to discuss the importance of investing in infrastructure. The IVLP helps build lasting relationships between American and international leaders and supports U.S. foreign policy goals.
