?? National K9 Veterans Day ?? Today, we honor and celebrate the service and sacrifices of our four-legged heroes on National K9 Veterans Day. At the Red Oak Police Department, we proudly recognize our own K9 Unit: K9 Bandit and his dedicated handler, Officer Pettit. K9 Bandit, a Belgian Malinois, is trained in tracking, apprehension, and narcotics detection—playing a vital role in keeping our community safe. His partnership with Officer Pettit is built on trust and dedication. Officer Pettit was also a K9 handler in the United States Air Force and has been with the ROPD for 8 years. ?? You're watching the State of the City: Mini Series ?? This Episode is all about Red Oak's Infrastructure! In 2024, Red Oak made significant strides in strengthening our infrastructure. Key upgrades included the Methodist Pump Station Storage Tank, adding 1.5 million gallons of water capacity, along with improvements to the Fox Hollow Lift Station. Roads like Red Oak Rd, Harmony Way, Valley View, and Tom Driver were also enhanced following the Pavement Management Plan, creating safer, more durable roads for everyone. Looking ahead to 2025, we'll begin the Daubitz Elevated Storage Tank project, doubling the City's elevated water storage. The Pierce Street Sewer Main project will replace outdated lines to support future growth, and over 8 lane-miles of roads will be improved. while TxDOT's Loop 9 and Ovilla Road bridge projects will continue. This is all to ensure Red Oak stays connected and ready for the future! #RedOakTX #InfrastructureDevelopment #StateOfTheCity
