To improve the safety of individuals with autism during emergencies, whether at home or on the road, the City of Pico Rivera, in collaboration with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department - Pico Rivera Sheriff's Station, has launched the Occupant with Autism Decal Program. This program offers free decals to community members who care for individuals with autism or know someone with autism. Two decals will be provided: one for placement on a frequently used vehicle and one for display at the primary residence. The main goal of the autism decal is to provide emergency personnel with a clear indication that there is an individual with autism present. This individual may be non-verbal, prone to wandering off, or unaware of dangers during a traffic incident or emergency at home. With the decal displayed, first responders and law enforcement can utilize their specialized training when approaching a vehicle or residence where the decal is visible. The program was initiated by an employee who has a child with autism and, through personal experiences, felt this would be a beneficial program to start in the City. The decals were made available for community requests at the Pico Rivera Sheriff's Station and the Police Office for the local school district, the El Rancho Unified School District.

The City of Pico Rivera is proud to announce the return of the City's Certified Farmers Market! The Certified Farmers Market will be held every Wednesday from April 2nd to July 30th at Pico Park from 5 to 9pm. During last night's City Council Meeting, the City Council approved the 2025 Legislative Platform. The Legislative Platform was developed to support the successful implementation of the City’s adopted Strategic Plan. The Strategic Plan serves as the roadmap to advance the City’s mission and vision by aligning the City’s resources and activities, the City Council’s policy direction, and the desires of residents, businesses, and community stakeholders. The City of Pico Rivera will advocate for funding opportunities and policy priorities outlined in this Legislative Platform and establish the City’s position on matters emerging in the Legislature. The Platform is designed to be ?exible and nimble, allowing sta? to proactively and immediately engage, advocate and in?uence the Legislature where possible and as necessary at all levels of government.
