  • The excitement is building. The City of Moorhead and the Moorhead Public Library invite the community to take part in a special moment in the construction of The Loop, Moorhead’s new Community Center and Public Library. A “topping-off ceremony” is held to celebrate the completion of a building's structural phase, marking the placement of the final beam or highest point. Community members signed a 45-foot steel beam that will be placed in the structure, symbolizing the strong foundation of support and collaboration that has made this project possible. This is a unique chance to be part of Moorhead history and celebrate the progress of The Loop. The beam will be ‘topped off’ and put in place on Thursday, March 20 at 10 am where the community is invited to watch the beam—the last beam for the project—to be put in place. Topping Off Ceremony Date: Thursday, March 20 Location: Viewing will be in the FM Center Lot (403 Center Ave) Please park in the old Herberger’s parking ramp Time: 10:00 am
