Our city has become the epicenter of investing and fintech this week thanks to Future Proof! Future Proof Citywide is one of the world’s premier conferences in the wealth and investment management industry. More than 2,500 attendees gathered on the sand to expand their network, explore new partnerships and discover emerging trends — all while enjoying Miami Beach as the beautiful backdrop.

The city’s Code Compliance Department is now better equipped to make sure there’s smooth sailing at the Miami Beach Marina and Indian Creek Waterway. The department recently took the wraps off a new golf cart that will allow Code Compliance officers to patrol these areas more efficiently. The navy cart can be recognized by its Code Compliance markings. ? As part of the department’s ongoing commitment to protect resident quality of life, the golf cart will allow Code Officers to move more rapidly through both locations to investigate concerns involving commercial and private vessels. One such issue pertains to the times charter boat operators may operate at the Miami Beach Marina. The city requires commercial vessel operators to wrap up all charters by 9 p.m. They may resume charters again at 7 a.m. the following day. ? Initial violations carry a civil fine of $500 while the second violation in a six-month period carries a $1,000 fine. Subsequent violations within that same period carry a $2,000 fine.
