I am excited to join the City of Fernley 2025 Citizens Leadership Academy. It is an unique opportunity to engage with local government and community leaders. This program is also a chance to learn about Fernley’s government structure, explore various city departments and their operations, discover programs and services provided by the city, and connect with fellow community members.

Today the City of Fernley got one step closer to becoming the industrial logistics hub of the West Coast with the Victory Logistics District Phase 2 groundbreaking. The Mayor and members of the City Council were pleased to attend and take part in Mark IV Capital's accomplishment, alongside Governor Lombardo and the Nevada Governor's Office of Economic Development (GOED), Congressman Mark Amodei, the Northern Nevada Development Authority and more. Fernley schools recently held special assemblies to honor students receiving the Mayor’s Citizenship Award—a prestigious recognition given to outstanding students from each grade level across the district. The Mayor of Fernley, Neil McIntyre, alongside LCSD Board Trustee Darin Farr, presented each recipient with a personalized certificate and a City of Fernley patch. A special thank you to Nevada Cement, the corporate sponsor for this initiative, for their generous contribution—each award recipient received a $50 Walmart gift card in recognition of their excellence.
