Texas Pro Lake Management, LLC stocked the Early Town Center Lake yesterday with 12,000 Redear Sunfish. These fish neutralize and feed on snails and zebra mussels, helping to control their populations. This stocking effort aims to reduce the spread of snail-borne fish parasites and curb the impact of invasive zebra mussels, promoting a healthier lake ecosystem.

On Monday, October 28th, at the Early Town Center Park, Fisheries Biologist Steven Bardin with Texas Pro Lake Management, LLC and Major League Fishing Co-Founder Gary Klein Pro Angler presented two American Feeder H 125 Fish and Game Feeders as donations. These contributions, provided through Minn Kota Habitat Restoration projects with support from MossBack Fish Habitat and American Feeders, aim to enhance local fish populations and support sustainable fishing practices in the community. A huge thank you to all the incredible organizations that joined us for our Fishing with the Pros event on Saturday! We had an amazing day fishing alongside Major League Fishing pros, with tackle provided by Inland Fisheries Abilene District - Texas Parks and Wildlife. Our Early Fire Department was there sharing essential fire safety resources for Fire Safety Month, the Texas A&M Forest Service handed out free trees and educational materials, Heart of Texas Nature Center brought the wonders of wildlife, and the Brownwood FFA Booster Club, Brownwood Bass Club , and KTAB News added to the fun! Thank you to everyone who made this day memorable for our community!

Construction on the boardwalk has been underway for a couple of weeks, and the progress is visible with the increasing number of piers visible from the ground.
