Morris said after being re-elected he plans to focus on improving the quality of life for residents by tackling issues ranging from economic development, job creation, infrastructure, public safety and water security. He said he wants to make a city where the community could be proud and eager to come back to. "We have a lot of opportunity as a community and we owe it to the next generation of Clovis to exert maximum effort in this period of time, to reach our full potential. "My vision is that Clovis will grow into a growing and vibrant hub city on the High Plains," Morris said.

The City of Clovis is looking for a PT lifeguard to help at the Aquatic Center. This position performs specialized work in the enforcement of regulations and the protection of life at the swimming pool. This position is responsible for maintaining a reasonable state of discipline and behavior on the part of swimmers and rescuing those who might be in distress. Follows established policies and procedures with minimum assistance. Work is subject to review through visual inspections by a Supervisor who is generally at the pool at all times. This position normally works 20 hours or less per week, which includes evenings, weekends, and holidays, with infrequent overtime as required. A lease has been recorded for a Marshall’s department store to be located at the North Plains Mall, according to Curry County Clerk Annie Hogland. “Our indexing indicates a memorandum of lease agreement was recorded in our office … between North Plains Mall and Marshalls,” Hogland wrote in an email. The agreement is for 10 years, according to the 12-page document Hogland attached to her email. The document contains a diagram that shows the Marshall’s store will occupy a portion of the space that used to house the Dillard’s store that left Clovis in 2020. #ClovisNM
