?? Congratulations to City High senior Zane Aqra for becoming an Eagle Scout! ?? Zane recently passed his Eagle Scout Board of Review after 6 months of dedication and preparation. For his project, Zane led the renovation of two parklets in South Oakland, which included creating informative signs, repairing fences, building a flower bed barrier, and cleaning up debris. With over 95 volunteer hours from 32 volunteers, Zane's project made a huge impact on the community. We're so proud of Zane for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout and for his commitment to service! #EagleScout #CityHighPgh #CommunityLeadership

Huntington National Bank has committed to a multi year education initiative, Ignite Classroom Education, in partnership with the Ron Clark Academy . Investing in teachers from five different cities - Pittsburgh, Detroit, Cleveland, Columbus, and Cincinnati, 800 educators spent two amazing days in Atlanta learning about how to see the best in every student and each other. I had the honor of being part of this initial co-hort with some of my colleagues from City Charter High School and am excited to see how we can implement some of what we learned. As was mentioned several times throughout, everyone can make small changes, "1%" changes, to improve the learning experience and outcomes for our students. Are we ready? We got this!

#WorkplaceWednesday 11th Grade City High Intern Caden C. is passionate about pursuing a career as a police officer. Although his internship at Brookline Teen Outreach doesn't focus on law enforcement, they went above and beyond to support his dreams. Caden got the incredible opportunity to meet with Sgt. Braden of the Pittsburgh Police Department to learn more about the profession! Huge thanks to Brookline Teen Outreach and Sgt. Braden for making this connection possible.
