We sleighed our way to New Hope for Families Hope for the Holidays Tree Festival to support local businesses, organizations, and community members who have decked the halls with over 50 uniquely decorated trees! We even spotted a tree-mendous collaboration between our friends at the Bloomington Fire Department Mobile Integrated Health and Bloomington Police Department—complete with $100 in gift cards to donuts. We are thrilled to announce that Andrew Shannon has stepped into the role of Safe & Civil Director with our Community and Family Resources Department! Andrew brings over three decades of experience in community engagement, coalition-building, and diversity-focused initiatives to champion diversity, equity, inclusion, and public safety education across Bloomington. He'll also act as a liaison to key commissions, including the Commission on the Status of Black Males and the Commission on the Status of Children and Youth, reinforcing our commitment to inclusivity and community ties. With a track record of impactful programs, like the Southeast Community Day Parade and food security initiatives, Andrew is set to make an even greater impact in Bloomington.
