Thank you to all the companies that joined us for our recent City Year career fair! This event provided our AmeriCorps members, ages 18-25, the chance to connect with representatives from various colleges, universities, and companies. Our goal was to introduce these amazing young people to post-service opportunities and to help them build relationships with potential employers who are equally passionate about making a difference in our community. We are grateful to everyone who participated, with a special thank you to our longtime partners, PwC, The Denver Broncos Foundation, Starbucks, and Metropolitan State University of Denver.

You can support City Year Denver and make a big impact on your community though Colorado Gives Day! This year, Colorado Gives Day is on December 10, and early giving starts today! City Year knows that too many students do not have access to the learning environments they need to thrive, due to systemic failings that have contributed to inequitable access to educational opportunities. Our AmeriCorps members not only make a difference in the lives of students, but also acquire valuable skills and experience that prepare them to lead and make meaningful contributions where they live and work. This year, you can support City Year Denver early! Starting November 1, when you set up a new monthly donation on https://lnkd.in/gHkmJWhW, Colorado Gives Foundation will match it up to $100. This limited-time offer only lasts until the $250,000 match runs out, so don’t wait! Help?City Year Denver sustain our work year-round. How to Get Started: Visit our donation page at https://lnkd.in/gHkmJWhW Choose your donation amount. Give now and get a jump on Colorado Gives Day!

City Year Denver's Youth Mental Health Corps program was recently featured in 5280 Magazine as one of five Colorado sites selected to launch this groundbreaking initiative. The program trains AmeriCorps members in mental health approaches to better support students, culminating in a behavioral health assistant credential from Community College of Aurora. The article highlights the alarming statistic that 42% of high school students report persistent feelings of hopelessness, with suicide being the second-leading cause of death among children ages 10 to 14 in the U.S., emphasizing the urgency of addressing the youth mental health crisis. Through this program, City Year Denver’s Student Success Coaches are partnering with Denver Public Schools to provide critical academic and emotional support. By connecting youth and families to available mental health resources, these volunteers are making a lasting impact.

Thank you to everyone who attended the Broncos, Brews and Bingo event last Sunday at Raices Brewing Company. We rooted the Broncos on to victory, played several games of Bingo for prizes, and raised money for City Year's program which impacts under resourced students attending Denver Public Schools. Thank you to the event sponsors, Deloitte, Griffiths Law PC, and IMA Financial Group, Inc. for their support.
