We are so grateful for our dedicated #volunteers! Huge shout out to the team at Syniti for all their help today ??
Today some of our Omaha team had an awesome opportunity to volunteer at City Sprouts - Omaha ‘s community garden and urban farm. We got our hands dirty planting, harvesting, and packing fresh produce that will work directly to build equitable, local food systems. We love supporting organizations that nurture the earth and provide nutritious food to those who need it most. Not only does their mission build community health, but it strengthens viability and sustainability. I even learned a few things about farming! Thank you to everyone who helped today. We couldn’t have had better weather or better company. #StrongerTogether #Community #Sustainability #SynitiGivesBack

We are so grateful to receive this funding, granting us the opportunity to develop infrastructure that supports the Greater Omaha area’s urban farming community ?? #FoodForAll #EquitableFoodSystems #LocalFarms #LocalFarmers #SustainableAgriculture #UrbanAgriculture #Community
USDA AMS has partnered with Nebraska Department of Agriculture under the Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure Program to award over $2.5M for 15 projects that build resilience across the middle of the supply chain and strengthen local and regional food systems. Through this program, seven infrastructure grants and eight equipment grants will be funded to support middle of the supply chain infrastructure. One award went to City Sprouts to develop HarvestHub, a shared-use wash, pack, and processing facility in Omaha that will provide urban and peri-urban growers with a low-cost/free, food-safe indoor facility where they can efficiently wash, package, process, and store specialty crops before distribution to end-users. https://bit.ly/4dMIZTa
