We are deeply saddened by last night’s fire on St. Johns Road and extend our heartfelt condolences to the families and individuals affected in our community. Woodstock’s kindness always shines brightest in times of need, and we know many of you are eager to lend a hand. The?The Community Foundation for McHenry County?has launched the McHenry County Crisis Fund to assist families and individuals affected by the St. Johns Road fire. Monetary donations to this fund will provide critical support, with efforts coordinated alongside local organizations. Donations to the McHenry County Crisis Fund can be made online, by mail, or in person at The Community Foundation for McHenry County, 33 E. Woodstock St., Crystal Lake, IL 60014. ?? At this time, all immediate needs are met. A list will be published in the coming days as to what specifically is needed. A temporary relocation center has been established at?St. John’s Lutheran Church, 401 St. Johns Road, to provide resources and assistance for those affected. If you or someone you know is in need, please visit the center for support. We’re aware that some private GoFundMe pages have been created for those impacted. Honoring Veterans Day, the City of Woodstock expresses our gratitude to all who have served and sacrificed for our country. Last week, City Hall and the Old Courthouse Center were illuminated in green lights as part of Project Greenlight, a tribute to veterans that symbolizes our unwavering support. Today the Old Courthouse will be lit in red, white and blue! The Woodstock City Council also joined in recognizing Veterans Day and Project Greenlight by presenting a special proclamation accepted by Keith Lynes and Rick Prescott from the American Veterans Alliance. Today, we thank all veterans for their service and dedication.
