The City Council of the City of Woodland Park is accepting applications from individuals who are interested in serving as a member on the City’s Charter Review Committee. The Charter Review Committee will comprise two councilmembers, two-four citizens, the City Manager, the City Clerk, and the City Attorney. The Council may appoint a minimum of two positions to this committee, with a maximum of four positions. These positions will expire in February of 2026. Interested applicants for this position must be at least 18 years of age, City residents for at least one year before an appointment, and be available to meet monthly. On Monday, October 14, 2024, members of the community, along with the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board (PRAB), Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO), Palmer Land Conservancy, City staff, and elected officials, gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the acquisition of Avenger Open Space! Earlier this spring, the City announced that Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) had officially awarded the City of Woodland Park a grant to purchase a 120-acre parcel known as Avenger Open Space. On April 15, 2024, the City closed on the property, officially welcoming a “once in a lifetime” opportunity to preserve open space for all to enjoy in our community. The City extends our heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved in making this vision a reality.
