Tacoma Public Library (TPL) is seeking a Library Deputy Director to assist in managing operations, strategy, programs, and services across its eight locations. This role involves supporting the library's community-centered approach and ensuring that services are responsive to the diverse needs of Tacoma residents. Key responsibilities include collaborating with the Library Director to develop strategic goals, overseeing key departments, and fostering relationships with community organizations and local government. The Deputy Director will also be responsible for developing and implementing policies to enhance library services, identifying trends and opportunities within the library profession, and managing grant applications. Additional duties include participating in budget development, evaluating current policies for effectiveness, and representing the library to internal leadership and external stakeholders.
