St. Louis Park is also proud of the numerous trails and parks in the community. The many trails connect us to downtown Minneapolis, the Uptown area, Hopkins and Chaska. There are 52 parks throughout the city to enjoy (11.5 percent of St. Louis Park's land is set aside for parks). These parks provide recreation, community space and beauty to all St. Louis Park residents in any season. Residents of St. Louis Park enjoy a multitude of different social and recreational activities to participate in, along with diverse religious, economic and education systems. Our 2024 sidewalk poems have been sandblasted into new sidewalk sections around the city! A huge thank you to all the talented St. Louis Park artists who submitted poems this year. Out of 72 submissions, 17 were selected and featured in the Texa-Tonka neighborhood. If you're taking a lovely fall stroll and spot a “Poetry Zone” sign, be sure to look down and enjoy the incredible work from our community members. The St. Louis Park sidewalk poetry program was created as a way to build a sense of local identity and create unexpected moments of pause, contemplation and reflection for pedestrians. Our new playgrounds are looking good 😎 We recently replaced the play structures in three St. Louis Park parks: Browndale, Jackley and Knollwood Green. The former playground sets from Browndale Park and Jackley Park were donated to Kids Around the World. They have not yet been assigned a specific location, but will be refurbished and relocated to either Ecuador, Uganda, Dominican Republic or Panama. Have you visited the new playgrounds yet??
