To help with these efforts, Beautify St. Joseph is promoting No Trash Tuesdays as residents are encouraged to make sure their trash gets in a trash can and to pick up litter while out and about. • The city of St. Joseph announces the retirement of Fire Chief Kenny Cordonnier. After more than 43 years of service with the organization, Chief Cordonnier will retire on April 4. Cordonnier started with the city on September 2, 1981, spending nine of those years as the Chief of Fire Prevention before taking over as Fire Chief in November 2021. During his time as chief, he focused on meeting the needs of the community as well as providing valuable leadership to those within the department. He oversaw the completion of the new fire station 8 as well as began the process for the new fire station 10 and upgrades to fire headquarters. We congratulate Kenny on his years of service to the organization and the community.

  • Update on current bridge projects: The contractor is getting ready to put down asphalt on the 6th Street viaduct. Additionally, concrete work will soon be underway on the MacArthur Drive bridge. All work is weather-permitting and schedules are subject to change. Please exercise caution while in work zones to ensure your safety and that of crews working. Thank you for your patience during these projects.
