The city was incorporated in 1953 and consists of approximately 2.1 square miles. The city is bordered by Fridley to the south and west, Blaine to the north and Mounds View to the east. Seasonal parking restrictions are now in effect. ?? No parking on any street between 2:00 AM and 8:00 AM from November 1 to April 1. ?? No parking on any street following a snowfall of three or more inches, regardless of time of day, until the snow has been plowed from curb to curb. These restrictions ensure that our snow plows and emergency vehicles can navigate safety and efficiently during the winter months. Thank you for your cooperation!

The City of Spring Lake Park was honored for its sustainability efforts with an award for achieving Step 1 status in the Minnesota GreenStep program. Minnesota GreenStep is a voluntary challenge, assistance and recognition program to help cities and tribal nations achieve their sustainability and quality of life goals. Accepting the award on the City's behalf were Administrator, Clerk/Treasurer Daniel Buchholtz, Councilmember April Moran and Councilmember Barbara Goodboe-Bisschoff. The City Hall Renovation and Expansion project has started! During this phase of construction, visitors to City Hall will be directed to enter from the south door. There is signage to point the way. Effective March 1, all City meetings will be held at Able Park Building, 8200 Able Street NE, until construction is complete.
