The City of Shelby's Fire and Rescue deployed to assist the Dysartsville Fire Department in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. Our crew helped with a residential house fire and setting up barricades. They cleaned equipment, cleared debris, assisted in reopening the landfill, and provided humanitarian aid and well checks. They were very busy! Our thoughts are with our friends in Western North Carolina, and we will continue to offer support as best we can. Great work, team: Captain Bill Weaver, Firefighter Clay Heafner, and Firefighter Houston Ledford.
