During Hurricane Milton, an exceptional team of Sarasota Police Department staff came together to ensure that both City and SPD staff had the support they needed to carry out their critical duties while working from the Emergency Operations Center located at SPD Headquarters. This unique team of individuals from multiple divisions and units within SPD went above and beyond and ensured the EOC ran smoothly by responding to an unexpected situation and providing food service, facilities support, and demonstrating readiness to assist with any necessary task at a moment’s notice. Made up of members of the Support Services Division, Crime Scene Unit, and civilian support staff, the City Commission has recognized the Hurricane Milton Support Team as November Team of the Month. Congratulations to Brandon Soriano for being recognized by the City Commission as November Employee of the Month! ?? Brandon joined the City as an Administrative Specialist in 2016 and was promoted to Code Compliance Inspector in the Development Services Department in 2019. His nomination for Employee of the Month came from a citizen, who expressed gratitude for Brandon’s outstanding efforts during a complicated case, helping quickly resolve multiple code compliance issues that had been holding up the sale of a home.
