In 2022, in response to the post-pandemic Great Resignation and the "War for Talent," the City of Sachse created the Culture Committee to establish a connection between City administration and employees. Recognizing our limitations competing with the private sector and much larger surrounding cities, we knew that culture would be the key to becoming an employer of choice within the metroplex. Over the last two years, the first cohort of the Culture Committee has worked with the Human Resources department and the City Manager's Office to improve employee benefits, introduce a condensed work-week schedule and inclusive Family Care Leave, update dress code policies, increase employee engagement, re-write the City's Personnel Policies and Procedures Manual, and develop Core Values. As City Manager, Gina Nash put it, "I'm only as good as the information I have." This group has boldly and candidly provided feedback and solicited information from their respective departments to make Sachse a better place to work for everybody. Today we honored the first Culture Committee cohort for their groundbreaking efforts before we welcome a new group onboard next month. Thank you to everyone who has served!
