We are incredibly proud to announce that the Roswell Fire Department has been nationally recognized with the 2025 Senator Paul S. Sarbanes Fire Service Safety Leadership Award! ???? This prestigious award, presented by the Congressional Fire Services Institute (CFSI) and the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF), honors our department’s groundbreaking research on firefighter health and safety. Through our study on the 48/96 shift schedule and adjusted start times, we evaluate how improved sleep quality can reduce health risks for firefighters, setting a new standard for fire service operations nationwide. Chief Joe Pennino accepted the award on behalf of the department at the 35th Annual National Fire and Emergency Services Dinner in Washington, DC. This achievement would not be possible without the support of Mayor Kurt Wilson, the Roswell City Council, and our dedicated firefighters who work tirelessly to protect our community every day. ?? Calling All Young Artists! ?? Fulton County K-12 students, it’s time to turn trash into treasure! The 2025 Recycled Art Contest is here, giving you the chance to create original artwork using recycled materials while raising awareness about litter and its impact on our water resources. ?? PRIZES & RECOGNITION Winning and honorable mention artwork will be showcased at the Peachtree Gallery (Fulton County Government Center) in April, plus winners receive monetary prizes! ?? CONTEST GUIDELINES ?? Artwork must be made by the student using recycled materials. ?? Glue, wire, and tape can be used for binding. ?? Paint, crayons, and markers are allowed. ??
