It was a milestone moment for our City on Monday as Ann Echols was sworn-in as our first ever female Assistant Fire Chief/Fire Marshal! She has been with the Rochester Hills Fire Department since 2006 and has her Master's Degree in Emergency Management and Homeland Security. She also is a Professional Emergency Manager and is currently enrolled in the National Fire Academy's Executive Fire Officer Program. We couldn't be more excited for Assistant Chief Echols and are excited to see her thrive in this new role!

We are still riding high off the outstanding Mayor's Business Council event that featured former Governor Rick Snyder (now CEO of SensCy) and Michigan State Police Det. Sgt. Kenneth Weismiller who talked all things cybersecurity with our business leaders. A big thank you also to our host Molex for being a great partner showing us around the innovation lab. Rochester Hills is THE place to grow your business and your network! #RochesterHills #Business #Networking #MayorsBusinessCouncil

More than 350 community leaders got to hear from Mayor Barnett about our plans to improve parks, how we just recently became debt-free, and why this community is oh, so special. Thank you as always to Maggie Bobitz for putting on a great show! #RochesterHills #CommunityOutlookBreakfast

Talk about leaving a legacy! We were honored to celebrate the careers of two outstanding public servants today with the retirements of Naturalist Lance DeVoe (left) and Arborist Dave Etz (right). Lance served the City for 37 years and Dave 36 years. The two excelled in their roles and did everything with the resident in mind. We surely are going to miss them!

Thank you to Andrea Schotthoefer for stopping by the Rochester Hills Fire Department recently to pick up money raised by our firefighters for the Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan. Check out the video to learn why this organization was important to one of our own.
