#EquityInAction #RichfieldMN In the last days of January, more than 50 Richfield city staff members took part in an optional two-day equity workshop. They explored topics like implicit bias and microaggressions, reviewed key survey findings from an internal staff survey and worked in small groups to set equity goals for the city. Now, Equity Coordinator Brittany Bartlett is teaming up with our consultant and city leadership to turn those goals into action!

Richfield’s Assistant Utility Superintendent, Chad Donnelly, spends most of his time in Richfield's fabulous water treatment plant. In December, he changed his scenery and traveled to Nyansakia, Kenya, to help bring clean drinking water to a rural village of 2,000 people. As a travel mentor and supporting engineer, Chad worked alongside University of Minnesota Duluth students from Engineers Without Borders, who designed the system and raised funds for the project. The team built a well, pipelines, and a solar-powered pumping system to deliver safe water throughout the village. Just before the holidays, staff from across the city convened to celebrate and recognize their colleagues. This celebration recognized staff at their 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 AND 35 year milestones!
